ECMC is offering a summer youth internship program, which provides high school students with an opportunity for self-development by exposing them to a variety of hospital-based careers. This is a four week program which runs during July and August 2018. Students must have an overall GPA or 80 or higher, and be entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall. For an application, please see Mrs. Stahl in the House 1 office. Completed applications are due to ECMC by March 2, 2018.
Congratulations to the 4 wrestlers that placed in the Section 6 tournament this past Saturday. Sophomore Mike Pataky placed 3rd at 195 pounds while Senior co-captain Jason Omar also took 3rd at 145 pounds. Both Caleb Potter and other co-captain Blake Harlock each placed 5th in thier respective weight classes. Congratulations to all the wrestlers on a very successful season!
The Indoor Track team participated in their ECIC Championships this past Friday night. During the meet the team had 3 school records broken including a Sectional record set by Jenna Crean in the 55. The other records were broken by Genevieve Arnold in the Triple jump and the boys 4x400 Meter relay run by Cal Puskar, Jim Bertfulo, Declan Watson and Kyle Lestenkof.
Book Club is meeting Tuesday February 13th in the library. Don't forget to support Book Club and eat at Chipotle on Milestrip on Tuesday February 13th, too.
Empire Girls State is a hands-on, week-long, educational workshop taking place at SUNY Brockport July 1st – July7th, 2018. The goal of the program is to help young women to better understand democratic ideals and to educate about government, politics, and Americanism. OPHS will select one junior girl to attend. Consideration is given to scholastic achievements, leadership, character, honesty and physical fitness. Attendees may become eligible for future college scholarships.
Attention all students. Volunteers are needed to help out with science night at Eggert Road Elementary School. Volunteers are needed on Thursday, Feb. 15th from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at Eggert. You will help elementary students with science activities. All students are welcome; we need lots of volunteers. Please volunteer if you can. Sign up outside of Room 160.
